Pay attention to the different colors of shapes of the individual fish of the same species. Fish colors vary from their environment to their eating habits. Fish colors changebased on the time of year, especially when they are mating.
Below you will find good and bad practices for handling fish. We try to have wet hands and nets to hold the fish and keep them out of the water just long enough to get the picture. Keeping them out in cold weather can freeze their gills and putting fish on the ground can crush their internal organs as they are wight less in water.
Touching fish with anything dry will remove their protective slimy covering. I have tried to include images of just fish, not the person who caught it.
